In tandem with the re-branding of Cumbria Tourism, relocation alternatives led to the realisation of a brief for a completely new Headquarters building to reflect both the new functions and role of Cumbria Tourism.

Using traditional local materials and techniques, a modern new bulding was designed, satisfying both the new working style of the organisation, and demonstrating a sympathetic appearance within the context of the Lake District National Park.

The building is recognized as a fine example of progressive architecture in an area of high landscape sensitivity and is considered an excellent work place by its users.
